as always, everything in our projects starts out in a joke. we jokingly tell hard to please people about this possibility with conviction (as if we are not really joking!hehehe). when they finally believe on it we suddenly ask ourselves, “are we really joking?”. look at the photo below.
the photo shows a regular sanitary napkin tumbling around city streets. i haven’t actually smelled one since women try to dispose of it as discretely as possible. i’m thinking of drying this first with the help of our environment beareau here and then cutting the pieces off and placing it on the center of a cube fiberglass mould. a clear mixture will air-seal it and voila its not smelly anymore. i’ll then start stacking and designing it.
that’s the technical and artistic part! but will these create social drama? i hope so (just enough to create a stir) but not too much that i will be rallied on by women’s group advocates. as to your opinion, is this too much?
in a business sense, i project that this will serve its purpose. having media mileage for free even if no one buys these. i just hope that it will be taken positively on its environmental context.

i’ll place it inside a clear glass cube..you couldn’t smell it since its inside the fiber glass mould. air-tight sealing.
it is to make people appreciate that there are “yucky” things that can be made beautiful with proper technology and art appreciation. it is for us to appreciate that god-given life is essentially beautiful even without technology and artistic appreciation.
a paradox.
as a woman, i think sanitary napkins become unsanitary once used…
and its a great challenge who and where will you get samples…..with signatures of donors pa di ba??
for sure they’ll never come from me RJ!!hehe…
ofcourse..that’s actually the point to create stir and confusion. para libre na ang ads and promo..whahaha. i guess the collection of the medium will be the easy part. wild radio and tv, would love to ride on this confusion. tani puro lang thin-type ang material.

i thought you were talking about art and artwork….plus the publicity pa gali and the stir..hehehe…
actually, there is nothing wrong with used napkins…its a notion that they should be disposed instead of exposed….that is why, we, women rather keep them rather than flaunt them..
and im quite surprised that you will be interested on our used napkins?!
im eager to see one finished “artwork” out of it na lang..hehe…..

sanitary napkins are presently researched to be mixed sa fertilizers, made as a substitute of sand sa (CHB) concrete hollow blocks. according to a research by miriam college, it has a proper disposal procedure very different from our thrashcan disposal.
and again, another stir.hehehe it makes me think.
so, tha’s how it looks after it served its purpose, kinda bulky, wehehe… and definitely yucky, no matter what your justifications would be, hahaha. i almost spat on my coffee.

Ultimately interesting though, I mean the art result. Expect a variety. Would one sample be of different shade of color (only shade of red?) compared to another? Excellent for different desings on variety of roses.:)
Placing drop boxes in leading malls and universities to collect samples could add to the stir, I suppose. 🙂

2. hmmm..im actually curious kung ano ang difference sang “ewwww” sang tao na gnaperceive ta na clean and not clean on face value. difference in smell, color, coverage and wag na!hahahaha pati joke lang na ah!hehehehe
3. im thinking of a monochromatic design piece. that is shaded in red. maybe a little more of red tones than red sepia!

Am I missing something here? First of all, the whole idea is just garbage, it is cheap and designed only to shock, that is easy to do, not artistic. Any fool can think of something disgusting to do, only certain fools would actually do it. Not clever.
Secondly, what is this pa kung sa ang nonsense, is it another attempt to be artistic?
NOthing disgusting about a used napkin. I love the look and the aroma of them as well. Its 110% pure woman.I have and ocntinue to sniff them, and if I know who wore it Its not beyond me to lick it as well or pop a tampon in my mouth and get the goodie out of it. Sick.nope, just uninhibited. I do not care how clean a woman is I can smell one on her monthly a 100 feet away. I can spot a napkin under even the loosest flowing dress. Gone are the good days of lacey sanitary belts/ If they were not to be seen why may the belts so fancey and out of lace when ordingary elastic would be just as fgine. And then there is the black lace Modess belts.Oh wow,, when the wife went walking aorund with that on it wsa such a turn on as to what it would be holding in place. Yep those were the good days so now we just have to be used to self stick pads, and hope they don’t get stuck on the roof of your mouth! LOL
